Over time, outside the village, the pioneer farmhouses, such as that of the Prati and the Villafranca/Boscaiola, were flanked by others, more structured: the stables/barns were flanked by houses for the Bergamo people, the breeders who tended to become permanent, the dairy where milk is processed, the well, the oven.

Finally, during the sixteenth century, the farmhouses became the fulcrum of companies that finally also included cultivated land, in addition to meadows and pastures, integrated into a complex rotation system. And that’s when houses for wage earners also appear.

In the Gallarati property, already in the mid-sixteenth century, in addition to the two already mentioned, the Cassinetta and Spagna (which later disappeared) were built; At the beginning of the seventeenth century the Favorita was added, then the Cassinazza, and finally in the 19th century the Prepositura. The Cascina Nuova, on the other hand, was developed together with 2000 rods of land in 1606.

Each of them requires a new arrangement of the land and the excavation of new irrigation ditches, while the settlement nucleus is enriched to the point of assuming, during the eighteenth century, the closed courtyard shape, the one that is most familiar to us.
