NATURE ROOM
Our journey starts from the plains and swamps of Lomellina, an ecosystem of great biological wealth encapsulated by two mountain ranges – the Alps and the Appennines. A fertile land, nurtured by an abundance of water.

ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ROOM
A turning point. In the feudal age, castles with their surrounding lands were merely pawns in the great political game, whereas now, a new aristocracy is born in Milan, and it aspires to stand the test of time. Pietro Gallarati is the perfect example.

THE PRIVILEGE ROOM
Surrounded by great personalities such as Francesco Sforza, Bianca Maria Visconti, Ludovico Sforza – known in Italian as “Il Moro”, “The Dark One” – and the genius of Leonardo, we receive a Privilege, and we discover its value. What does it mean to have the right to administer these lands? What does it mean to receive a privilege?

THE KING’S ROOM
Life at court, the arrival in Italy of King Louis XII of France welcomed by Maria Roero, his meeting with Pietro Gallarati and the diplomacy skills that allowed Pietro and Maria to maintain their family’s right over the lands surrounding the Castle.

MAPS ROOM – VINZAGLIO’S ROOM – CAVO GALLARATI SCOTTI ROOM

THE ADMINISTRATOR’S ROOM
Increasing the productivity of the land means investing and administrating properties with a forward-thinking approach. In this room, we discover what it means to manage resources over time through documents and historical accounts.

THE CONSORTIUM ROOM
Water as a common resource. The value of a community and of a common investment for the future, without ever over-exploiting the land. Agriculture, too, is a delicate ecosystem. Only the teamwork of a consortium can take care of it in the best way possible.

ROMAN ROAD ROOM

The Gallarati Scotti Castle is one of the most important stops on the ancient roman road. This road is a symbol for the path that we can take, enriched by the knowledge and traditions that our ancestors passed on to us.

Now, all is clear: Water is the Way, both a choice and a road to follow.
